Artisan Brewing brings Belgian class to the city

There is only one better place for a WA brewer who specialises in Belgian beers to showcase their wares.

Unfortunately, Brussels is a little too far to reach for a nice mid-week beer and food matching event.

But the Belgian Beer Cafe is a worthy venue for Artisan Brewing's latest extravaganza. After all, Artisan's boss Brian Fitzgerald has forged a strong reputation for producing outstanding Belgian-style beers.

The Cicerone from Denmark, that is from WA not Belgium's European neighbour, is bringing five great beers to Perth to be matched with delights from the Belgian Beer Cafe kitchen for a major event on Wednesday March 14.

Take the entree for example. The associated beer is a Belgian Ardenne-inspired Golden Ale called Gnome.

This delicious brew pours pale gold, with thick white head. Complex banana, stonefruit, bubblegum and spicy coriander flavours.

The Belgian malt and noble hops bring balance to the characters of this beer and will pair perfectly with the Roasted Duck Breast with pan-fried endives, duck fat potato, caramelized pear and ginger, beer jus.

And that is the first course!

If you move quickly you can snare a seat to this high-class event.

There is a strong rumour that Artisan's renowned Triple Treating might be on offer, too. That is worth admission cost alone.
