Otherside matches beer with arts in new deal

Otherside Brewing Co. The Sip Beer

There is another side to Otherside.

The WA brewery, which has quickly become a prominent player in the local craft beer market, is more than just a company involved in producing the wonder nectar.

Otherside emerged from Sunset Events, which has staged some of the State’s more popular music festivals. And the parent company, Triple-1-Three, has maintained support for the creative industry with annual grants to help musicians.

The Triple-1-Three team reconstructed the Fremantle Artillery Hall into Freo.Social, which has showcased major acts as well as offering space for musicians to develop their craft. It also is a major service vehicle for Otherside's brews.

Now Otherside and Art Gallery Western Australia have announced a new three-year partnership that will see the brewery supply its extensive range of craft beers at AGWA events and collaborate on a range of special activations and limited edition can art.

Confirming the announcement, Otherside National Sales and Marketing Manager, Steve Finney said the partnership would provide culturally relevant opportunities for the brewing brand to engage with new audiences.

“This partnership is a very exciting one for us. It unites two organisations committed to creative culture, innovation and the promotion of the arts in WA.

“It also provides new creative collaboration possibilities for Otherside, opportunities to increase our reach and profile and encourage new audiences to experience some really good Western Australian beers.”

Triple-1-Three chief executive Al Taylor said the Art Gallery partnership was an opportunity to ‘support and amplify culture and creativity, something that sits at the heart of the organisation.’

“This is a creative partnership in every sense. We look forward to working closely with AGWA on a shared goal of achieving social and cultural connection through the delivery of innovative, immersive and engaging experiences for gallery guests,” Taylor said.

Otherside marked the commencement of the partnership with the launch of a limited-edition art can at the iconic Art Ball held on Saturday 25 May.
